On Friday Deanna and I hit the road headed west! We stopped and had an amazing cup of coffee at the Serene Bean in Katy then road off into the sunset!

Headed for Texas Pride BBQ to meet friends and family in San Antonio. We stopped at a quaint Mexican Restaurant for a veggie meal before getting our boots dusty. When we got to the dance hall/BBQ joint/playground/sports bar we were met by people of all ages and four legged friends, of course. Whiskey Two Step was playing and while we enjoyed the company, the moment comes where the band starts that song you know, your lady is close, and there’s just enough lull in the conversation to grab her by the hand and tell your fellow revellars “We’re gonna dance!”.

I’ve danced with Deanna before but something about grabbing her by the hand, sliding through the crowd of cowboy hats and beer bottles to find our way to a spot on a dusty dance floor was very exciting. Then it was my pleasure to wrap my arms around her and enjoy the music. And when I saw that beautiful smile we all know, everything and everyone disappeared. It was just us. Enjoying a moment. An epic moment.
